| The Loddon Murray Hockey Club (LMHC) offers the unique opportunity to assist in developing both a Men’s and Women’s sport simultaneously. Hockey also offers participants a sport that is synonymous to a healthy lifestyle that fosters working in a team environment, and is recognised as an Olympic sport. As a club, we are keen to promote hockey as a chosen sport and need to make it an accessible choice for young athletes. The club is a volunteer organisation, Club fees are kept to a minimum to encourage involvement. We pride ourselves on our family friendly environment.

History and Background
In 2003 the Kerang Junior Hockey Association and Swan Hill Hockey Association joined forces to provide three representative teams in the Central Victorian Hockey Association (CVHA) competition in Bendigo. They formed and took on the name, ‘Loddon Murray Hockey Club’ and indeed the players truly represent this region. Currently players come from Swan Hill, Kerang, Koondrook, Barham, Cohuna, Boort, Pyramid Hill, Ultima, Fernihurst, Birchip as well as expatriates living/studying/working in Bendigo. The LMHC are coordinated from and train at Kerang. We currently have around 70 registered players, and a large support group involved with the club. Training is currently undertaken on the Kerang Tennis Club hard courts every Tuesday night starting in early March through to the finals in September. |
