Made up of a wide spread of locals keen to get the Community Building Initiative (CBI) off the ground, an Interim Steering Committee met for the first time in early October 2006 to discuss and plan the Kerang Community Plan's first major project: the Kerang Community Opportunity Workshop (KCOW). The Local Steering Committee, and the work done at the KCOW, will now guide the Kerang Community Plan CBI for the remainder of the two-year period. Tracey Davis, as the project facilitator, will support and guide the Kerang community in their efforts to initiate ideas and plan and implement actions. This includes assisting people to:
Ms Davis will report regularly to the Steering Committee, Gannawarra Shire Council and the Department for Victorian Communities. She will also ensure that information about the Project and its progress is readily available to the people of Kerang and that opportunities for participation are well promoted. |
