Focus on Communication

The consistent issue raised at each sector meeting was that business KERANG has failed to communicate effectively.

Over the coming weeks business KERANG will be finalising the contacts database by means of a phone survey to all Kerang businesses. This is due to the fact that we received less then ½ the survey forms which were mailed out or delivered back.  Therefore we are trying again in the form of the phone survey.  Once finalised, the database will allow direct electronic contact for those with email and direct mail outs to those without.

We will also concentrate on utilising the Northern Times for regular media releases to keep members informed. Please let us know if there is anyone not receiving information.

Residential Estate Open Day

Property Developer David Looker in conjunction with local real estate agents conducted an open day for the new 50 lot residential subdivision in Boundary St on Saturday 26th April.

The open day was a great success with 12 lots confirmed sold and negotiations continuing on another 3. That equates to around 30 lots in total sold! Well done to all concerned and it was great to receive the positive feedback from David regarding business KERANG’s support for the event.

The interest was from new residents to Kerang and from city developers and couples looking to move to Kerang. Many were impressed by how tidy the town was and how the people of Kerang obviously took pride in the presentation of there homes and gardens. They were also impressed with how friendly everyone had been to them during there short visit to Kerang. All visitors were presented with an information pack on Kerang, which was well received.

Thank you to those Trades People who provided business cards / signage for the Kerang Display.  We are sure with time this will have a very positive flow on effect to all businesses within our community.
