The Cambodia & Arnhem Land Youth Community Connect Project
A World Community Service Initiative For Year 12 Students/Alternative to "Schoolies Week"
An Oppurtunity to give, not to take!

This project offers year 12 students of Kerang Technical School an alternative to the now well publicised "Schoolies Week". Offering the students a Life Changing experience to remember.

November 2007 saw 10 KTHS Students and 9 support adults take part in this unique experience as an alternative to the usual
year 12 "Schoolies Week". They traveled to Darwin/Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory before moving on to Cambodia to participate in community projects such as helping to build 8 homes in a remote village, assisting in English classes at the Phnom Phen University, supplying care packages for youth aged between 5 and 19, mostly orphans, living in a Rehabilitation Centre. Members of the group also repaired a number of beds at the Centre and managed to get water running to the bathroom for the first time in 16 months.

The Youth Community Connect Project is a two week trip organised in association with the Rotary Club of Kerang.
Organisers are seeking the support of businesses in the district through financial donations to help offset the travel costs, allowing all year 12's the same oppurtunity.
Cambodia
A Big Thank you to the Kerang Business Community and individuals for Donations so far.........your generosity has already impacted on the lives of many people. 8 Cambodian families have new homes and orphans have beds and running water while 10 local year 12 students have had the opportunity to help others and travel. We ask that you continue to support this project so that it can become an annual event
